Black Myth: Wukongis a thrilling uphill battle. While this action/adventure title isn’t quite a “boss rush” experience, it’s close. In this harrowing dive into the world and lore of “Journey to the West,” there are countless fiends the Destined One will encounter. More times than not, they’ll come packing their own beefy boss-sized health bar and a litany of devious combos and move sets.
Fighting a boss in Black Myth: Wukong often requires you to learn a foe’s combat patterns. Don’t mistake this title for a hack n' slash scenario. If you don’t play defensively, you won’t last long. There are two different types of boss encounters in Black Myth: Wukong:Yaoguai ChiefsandYaoguai Kings. Kings are often mandatory fights along the critical path (aside from the game’s secret final boss). Chiefs can be mandatory, but there are many that are optional. Optional bosses are worthwhile as they deliver you a healthy dose of will, rare materials needed for crafting, curios for boosts, or spirits that you can utilize in combat.
