The Best Tier Skills for the Light Bowgun
The best skills to have in your loadout when using the Light Bowgun include Ballistics, Special Ammo Boost, Opening Shot, Evade Extender, Evade Window, Burst, and Partbreaker. The Ballistics, Special Ammo Boost, and Opening Shot skills are equipment skills found on the weapons, while the Evade Extender, Evade Window, Burst, and Partbreaker skills are found on the armor pieces.
Ballistics
Ballistics –The reason the Ballistics skill is the best skill for the Light Bowgun is simply that it extends the effective range of the Light Bowgun. When using the Light Bowgun, the hunter will want to stay as far away from the monster as possible while remaining within the optimal range of the weapon to be effective when hunting. The Ballistics skill widens the distance between the hunter and the monster by increasing the effective range of the Light Bowgun, giving more room to dodge when the monster attacks.
Special Ammo Boost
Special Ammo Boost –The Special Ammo Boost skill is amazing to have on the Light Bowgun because it increases the damage of your special ammo—whether it is the wyvernblast mine or the adhesive ammo, whichever one you are using with the Light Bowgun at the moment.

Opening Shot –The next skill, Opening Shot, increases the bowgun’s reload speed and the power of the bullets when fully loaded. Partbreaker
Partbreaker –The Partbreaker skill increases the damage you do to the weak parts of the monster—for example, the head and the tail—making it easier to break them, and also increases the damage you do when you destroy the wounds inflicted on the monster during the hunt. This skill is outstanding for the Light Bowgun, as you will be aiming for the monster’s weak points most of the time, increasing your overall damage. The additional 30% increase in damage when using Focus Strike will deal huge amounts of damage, especially if it is a charged-up shot when using the Light Bowgun.
Although it can be a little challenging to put these skills together, the flexibility offered by the decoration slots and the talisman slot will allow you to have all these skills in your loadout when using the Light Bowgun.
Second Best Tier (Tier II) Light Bow gun skills
This set of skills is not necessarily the best to have when using the Light Bowgun but will help enhance specific aspects of the weapon.
TheTetrad Shotskill increases the affinity of the shots from your Light Bowgun up to two levels after the fourth and sixth shots. Since most of the default ammo counts per magazine for different ammo types vary between three and five shots without any boost from customization mod slots, the skill is useful for very specific types of ammo with at least six shots per magazine. This specific requirement is the reason why this skill is in the second best tier.
Artillery –The Artillery skill increases the strength of explosive attacks, and for the Light Bowgun, it increases the power of the wyvern blast mine, adhesive ammo, and sticky ammo. However, this skill only affects those ammo types, placing it in the Tier II category.
Stamina Surge
Stamina Surge –Next, we have the Stamina Surge skill. This skill increases the stamina recovery speed by up to 50% at the highest level (level 3), and it is useful for the Light Bowgun user. Having this skill in your loadout will help with overall mobility when using the Light Bowgun because the stamina bar will regenerate a good amount between your dodges while you are firing at the monster, minimizing the chance of your stamina running out the moment you need to evade.
Rapid Fire Up
Rapid Fire Up –The next skill, Rapid Fire Up, is a decoration-exclusive skill that is not found on any equipment. This skill increases the damage the Light Bowgun does in Rapid Fire mode by 5% and is good to have when you have a level three decoration slot available to use on the weapon.
Optional skills for the Light Bowgun
These skills are not the best, but they will still help players when using the Light Bowgun if you have a free decoration slot or a slot on your talisman.

When using the Light Bowgun, you will be aiming for the monster’s head and weak points such as wings and tails for the majority of the time.
