From Stray to Cat Assassin

Steve Lerner is the creative mind behind the 2022 atmospheric adventure game,Stray, which, if you haven’t had the opportunity of playing, takes you in control of a cat. I know what you’re thinking, and the concept of putting yourself in the paws of an average cat may be a silly one on the surface, but Stray uses that furry vehicle to tell a compelling story with entertaining action andpuzzlesalong the way.

As a cat, you can walk, sprint, jump, pick up stuff with your mouth or scratch carpets. Also, there’s a dedicated “meow” button that lets you just meow on command to get some NPCs perked up or get their attention, because sometimes, as a cat, you just have to be annoying and knock things over to get what you want and accomplish your goals. Anything that you might think a cat will do is in this game.

Cat Assassin Hugh Holding a Gun

Where Stray charmed players with its peaceful and linear exploration of a cyberpunk world filled with robots,Cat Assassin puts players in the paws of Hugh, a skilled assassin who will navigate a gritty neo-noir underworld of cartels and power brokers.

The game draws inspiration from beloved franchises such asAssassin’s Creed,Splinter Celland Sifu while maintaining all the attributes that made Stray some of the best sleeper hits of 2022. That said, Lerner and the team are keen to emphasize that the neo-noir setting won’t be a completely dry or serious experience and humor will play a key role in balancing out some of the darker themes behind its story.

Dave Bautista as Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy

Dave Bautista Investing in Video Games

Dave Bautistais best known for his role as Drax in the MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Rabban Harkonnen in Dune and of course with his career as a former WWE Superstar. Through his company Dogbone Entertainment, Bautista is partnering with Titan1Studios to bring Cat Assassin to life. Dave Bautista also expressed that the world is “truly unique” and that he’s eager to share it with players around the world. While the world of cats sounds interesting and the backing of a big celebrity is nothing to scoff at, the buck doesn’t stop at just Cat Assassin the video game as the world of feline John Wick is also set to feature an animated series, a movie and more cat video games.

It’ll be interesting to see what this partnership between a big celebrity, a creative writer and a blossoming studio will bring.
