But Wasn’t Development Already Finished?

It’s a surprising announcement, especially considering the studio had officially stated that their work onCyberpunk 2077 was finished back in early 2024.

In February of last year, the last remaining developers still working on the game were reassigned to other projects.

Even so, theNight Cityadventure has continued to receive patches—such as update 2.2, released at the end of 2024.

That patch introduced photo mode improvements and new vehicles as its main highlights. Another update followed in January of this year, adding support for Nvidia DLSS 4.

Of course, these updates don’t come out of thin air. There’s a studio behind them—Virtuos, a company specialized in ports of all kinds.

CD Projekt had previously stated that they had no plans to create an enhanced version for Sony’s new console… but didn’t they also say there would be no more updates forCyberpunk 2077?

More cautious fans are tempering expectations:they believe 2.3 will focus on bug fixes and, at most, a few additional customization options.

Others are more optimistic, suggesting new missions could be added—and a recent leak might support that theory.

A leak onLinkedIn from Virtuos, posted by a senior writer, mentions new side quests and an upcoming DLC.
