Diablo 4: Theme, release date, and early patch notes for Season 4

Season 4 of Diablo 4 is slated to arrive onMay 14 at 10 am PT, 1 pm ETfor all players. While players got to play the Season 4 PTR, that only gave us glimpses into the overall game design changes and new features implemented. Things such as the revampedHelltide event, Tempering and Masterworking crafting system, as well asThe Pitwere introduced into the PTR and will later arrive for Season 4. But what else do we know?

Dataminers recently discovered a possibleIron Wolves themefor Season 4. These dataminers discovered an Iron Wolves emblem within these files. Fans of the previous Diablo games will probably recognize the name. The Iron Wolves were a mercenary company known to be working in Kehjistan.

The files also pointed out the name Soudeh who could play a vital role in the main Seasonal campaign. Other than that, these dataminers discovered a few Iron Wolf-themed items as reputation rewards.

Players who got to experience the PTR may have noticed that certain enemies granted “Wolf’s Honor” (as described in this detailed post on Wowhead), and even some of the Helltide events hint at the Iron Wolves. With all this in mind, it’s easy to speculate that the Season 4 campaign will take place in Kehjistan and involve you working with someone named Soudeh.

Whether you’re working with or against the Iron Wolves, we’re not sure yet. But it’s very obvious from these datamines that Blizzard plans to implement some sort of Iron Wolves theme into the next Season.

Until we find out more, you’ll be stuck with Season 3 for now, although most players are disappointed at the idea ofreturning to Season 3after playing the Season 4 PTR.
