Dragon Age: The Veilguard: The Labs Below Quest Walkthrough
Sometimes you must revisit the past to understand someone who is a mystery.
Sea of Blood is a somewhat lengthy, but otherwise straightforward quest. That said, you’re likely to miss out on some pretty sweet loot if you go directly for the objective instead of taking the time to explore around. Don’t worry, though, because we carefully combed through the entire quest area just so we can show you where to find the most important points of interest.

Your first order of business is to take the portal from the Crossroads toTreviso. As soon as you arrive, you’ll be greeted by Teia, an emissary of the Antivan Crows. Follow Teia as she escorts you to her leader, but don’t be afraid to stray off the beaten path a little if you want to collect a bit of loot on the way. At the very least, you’ll want tograb the two Mementos found in the first buildingyou’ll come across after using the zipline.
Talk to Caterina Dellamore to learn about her grandson, Lucanis, also known as “the demon of Vyrantium”. Lucanis is a master assassin who can aid you in your quest to stop the elven gods, but there’s a little caveat. Lucanis was captured and is currently being held in an underwater prison known as the Ossuary. You know what that means. Time to bust him out. Follow Illario and then take the boat to reach the Ossuary.

Free Lucanis
From the Entrance Hall, follow the quest marker until you reach the Cliffs. Head up the stairs to your left to find a couple of chests and then proceed toward the quest marker again. You’ll soon come across a sealed door that can be opened by solving a little puzzle involving some red crystals. Look up anddestroy the three floating crystals to remove the shield from the big crystal on the door. Destroy the big crystal to remove the barrier. Before you proceed through the main door, check the room to your left to find a chest and some random loot lying around on the ground.
Open the main door to trigger a cutscene that introduces you to Lucanis. Technically, you’re there to free him, but he ends up doing a pretty good job of killing his captors all by himself. However, he can’t leave the Ossuary just yet and requests that you help him destroy a vial of his blood that the Venatori are using to control him. He also needs to fulfill an old contract that requires him to kill a Venatori leader before he can join you in your quest. Exhaust all his dialogue and proceed to the first objective.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard: How to Unlock New Companion Abilities
Everything you need to know about unlocking companion abilities and Ultimates.
Blood Heist
Dispatch the trio of mages that ambush your party as you leave the room Lucanis was imprisoned in and grab the key from one of their corpses. Use the key to unlock the nearby door and look around the room to find a Memento along with three sealed doors. Go up the stairs to your left to unseal the first door and gain access to a higher vantage point. From there, you’re able to destroy one of the crystals blocking the remaining two doors. Jump down and look up to spot the other crystal you’ll need to destroy to unseal the doors. Loot both rooms and then follow the quest marker to reach the Outer Cells.
Go upstairs to find a group of mages guarding three sealed rooms. Take care of the mages and look up to find a crystal floating above the spherical sculpture. Destroy it to unseal the rooms. Two of those rooms contain captured Darkspawn while the third one contains a blue energy crystal you’re able to use to power the nearby device that lets you proceed to the next area. However, before you do that, you’ll want tograb the crystal and backtrack to the previous roomwhere you’ll find an identical device. Place the crystal to activate a bridge that grants you access to a small side chamber where you’ll find a couple of chests and some other loot. Grab the crystal and go back to following the quest marker.

The Fabricator
Go across the bridge and interact with the prompt to have Lucanis create a platform that will allow you to proceed to the next area. Once you reach the next room, you’ll come across a mini-boss called the Fabricator. The Fabricator isresistant to Necrotic damage and vulnerable to Electric damage, so use that to your advantage. Once the Fabricator and his cronies are dead, ensure to thoroughly explore the area because there’s a lot of good loot in the room, including a Memento, a Rune, and some chests.
Use the ladder to reach the upper level where you can find even more loot.

Go through the door to find a large chest waiting for you downstairs. Turn around to find another one of those floating energy crystals and use it to power the nearby device. Doing so opens the door to an optional room where you’ll be ambushed by a large group of undead enemies. Do away with them and loot the room (don’t forget to check in the back) before proceeding to the next area. Check all the little side chambers as you go back to following the quest marker. You’ll soon run into a bunch of enemies just as you reach the Lower Inner Cells. As always, explore the area carefully so you don’t miss out on anything, especially the large chest sitting in the southern corner of the room.
The next area you’ll come across is the Warden’s Tower Approach. Before you use Lucanis' shortcut to bypass the bridge, turn left to find a chest sitting at the bottom of some stairs. Once you get to the other side of the bridge, you’re just a stone’s throw away from the vial of blood. Enter the Blood Vault and solve the puzzle by starting with the crystal on the right. Check the back of the room to find a chest hiding behind some crates. Go back and enter the room on the opposite side to find the next unshielded crystal. To reach it,take the hidden entrance found in the back of the room. Destroy the remaining crystals to gain access to the room that holds Lucius’ blood.
With the first objective out of the way, you can now proceed to tackle the second one needed to complete the quest. The second objective involves killing Calivan, one of the most powerful foes you’ve encountered up to this point in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The elevator in the Blood Vault will take you straight to him. ensure to explore the rest of the area if you haven’t already, because you won’t be able to go back once you take the elevator.
Calivan has a couple of nasty tricks up his sleeve, includingthe ability to create duplicates of himself. The good news is that these duplicates can be one-shot, so make sure to focus on them first as soon as he summons them. Once you drop his health to about half,Calivan disappears and summons a Pride demon to fight in his place. The demon is resistant to Electric damage but vulnerable to Necrotic damage so it shouldn’t take you long to bring it down with Lucanis on your side. Destroy the demon and Calivan will return for the second phase of the fight.
Calivan is resistant to Fire damage but vulnerable to Cold damage. If Neve is in your party and/or if you have a Cold-based weapon, this fight will be easy. If not, you can always tilt the odds in your favor by using the Glacial Rune you found earlier. The second phase of the fight is identical to the first one, so use the same strategy you used before and Calivan will be dead in no time. Once he’s defeated, check behind his throne to find a large chest containingpowerful equipment. Go back and talk to Lucanis to finish the quest and return to the Lighthouse. Your bond with Lucanis and your reputation with the Antivan Crows will both increase once you complete the quest.
