The director ofElden Ring Nightreignhas confirmed that the game will reuse some enemies fromDark Souls—and fans are hoping to see a touch ofBloodborne. Here’s what has been revealed:
Elden Ring Nightreign Integrates Enemies from Dark Souls
Elden Ring Nightreignis a new game from FromSoftware. Following the acclaimed Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, the open-world franchise takes another step toward total acclaim with this title, focusing heavily on the multiplayer experience.
While not many details have been shared aboutElden Ring Nightreignbeyond its trailer and confirmation that the game will release on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC sometime in 2025, more information is gradually emerging.

One of the most talked-about aspects is the resemblance between enemies in this new game and those from theDark Soulsseries. Now, FromSoftware has provided an official response.
Elden Ring & Dark Souls to Collide in the Same Game
In an interview with Famitsu, the game’s director, Junya Ishizaki, confirmed that a “small number” of enemies from theDark Soulsseries will appear inElden Ring Nightreign, thanks to the “influence of the King of Night.”
“In the game, we emphasize the chaotic feeling of being attacked by various forces at night. In that sense, I thought it would be interesting to feature enemies from another world, so I decided to include them after obtaining approval from [Hidetaka] Miyazaki and Dark Souls II director [Yui] Tanimura,” Ishizaki stated.

It seems this game is establishing a sort of “multiverse” that could bring together familiar faces from previous titles, integrating them intoElden Ring. The developer even teased this in a post on Twitter:
In the Night, ancestral foes await - remnants of a fire that once burned bright.#ELDENRING#NIGHTREIGNlaunches on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC Digital in 2025.https://t.co/TyPLQabumO— Dark Souls (@DarkSoulsGame)July 09, 2025

Ancestral foes, a fire that once burned—these references are clear, and many of the enemies bear similarities to creatures like the Centipede Demon, among others.
However, it remains to be seen how these enemies will be integrated and which ones will appear. Certainly, seeing a few beasts fromBloodbornewouldn’t be unwelcome.
The game introduces an innovative concept within the style of the Japanese developer, promising a unique twist to the beloved formula.
