Guillermo del Toro, who has been pretty vocal about his love for the medium of animation, also didn’t back away from sharing his admiration for the movie.
And with its sequel,Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verseinching toward its release. Del Toro, who recently garnered an Oscar win for his stop-motion animation,Pinocchio, expressed his love for Sony’s magnum opus and shared his best wishes for the future of the sequel.

Guillermo del Tororecently expressed his love for Sony’sSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verseand praised the movie for changing the landscape of animation. The director also commended its brilliant team of artists, who were able to craft a genre-defining experience for fans, and is assured that the sequel will be able to deliver a similar experience. He said,
“We are in a “Spartacus” moment in animation- and Spiderverse will mean a LOT to the medium. I am so happy about it being shepherded by creative, animation-loving minds and artists. I hope the very best for this film and every other film that tries to push the medium, the industry or the audience like they are.”
Del Toro is indeed right aboutSpider-verse’scontribution to the medium of animation and despite releasing 5 years earlier, its influence can still be felt in the industry.

As they are stressing to make their movies more visually stylized, which is quite apparent in their recent works, includingThe Bad GuysandPuss in Boots 2.
Sony has also hasn’t failed to work in the footsteps of their Magnum Opus and was able to deliver another immaculate experience through 2021’sThe Mitchells vs. the Machines.
