Paul Dano’s Obsession With Multiple Takes

Paul Danois one of the true geniuses when it comes to the acting skill. The actor has been marvelous in many movies but his secret is rather simple. Dano loves to explore deeply into the traits of the character he plays, reading the psychology of the character integrating their essence into him, and delivering the aesthetics of his eyes that speak volumes. In an interview withThe Guardian,The BatmandirectorMatt Reevesrecalled Dano’s obsession with multiple takes as the actor went for 70 or 80 takes for 2 days for the jail scene in theRobert Pattinson-starrer movie.

“Paul loves doing a lot of takes, as do I. We took two days on the final scene between him and Robert Pattinson as Batman, and we must have easily done 70 or 80 takes. Paul loves exploring. He’s obsessive that way,”Reeves said.

This could be pretty upsetting to Pattinson as he had to wait 2 days to finish the last scene of the movie just because of his co-star Dano who played the iconic DC character Riddler.

Matt Reeves and Paul Dano were getting Along

Reeves was not upset with the multiple takes, rather the director was enjoying Dano’s process of exploring the character. TheSwiss Army Manactor was also on his game to delve into the traits of the DC character.

“There were all these moments as the Riddler where he’d be tickled by something and then fly into a rage, and you never knew from take to take where that switch would come. I’d be sitting there with the headphones on, trying to stifle my laughter because he’d always do something surprising. Paul would ask me: ‘Was that crazy? Was that too much?’ I’d say: ‘No it’s fantastic. Let’s do another,’”Reeves toldThe Guardian.
