How to get Galactic weapon skins in Overwatch 2
Overwatch 2 Season 15 brings shiny new Galactic weapons – cosmetic skins that can be unlocked and applied to any character on the roster, but unlocking them is no easy task.
It’s no exaggeration to say that theSeason 15 updateis one of the biggest to ever hitOverwatch. It marked the long-awaited return ofloot boxesafter years away and introduced a newPerks systemthat could change matches forever.
On top of all that, it rolled out a new weapon skin that players are desperate to get their hands on. Here’s how to get Galactic weapons in OW2.
How to unlock OW2 Galactic weapons
Galactic weapons can be purchased from the hero gallery for3,000 Competitive Points. They’re found under the ‘Weapon Varients’ tab and are listed alongside the Jade and Golden skins for previous ranked seasons.
When Season 15 began, the variant couldn’t be unlocked while blizzard converted Competitive Points to Legacy Points, but at the time of writing, they’re now available for everyone.
It’s worth keeping in mind that you’ll have to buy them for each character, so you’ll need well over 100,000 Competitive Points to get the variant for every hero.
How to get Competitive Points
You earnCompetitive Points every time you win or draw a match in Competitive; 10 for a win or five for a draw. You don’t earn any for a loss, so you’ll need to win games consistently if you want to earn Galactic weapons quickly.
On top of that, you’re also awarded bonus points at the end of each season based on your final rank. If you’re close to the 3k mark, this can be a final to help you unlock the weapon variant for your favorite hero.
