A release version of Android Pie is now available to download for Google Pixel phones.
Google originallyshowcased some interesting Android Pie featuresat itsGoogle I/O developer eventback in May and the version of Android Pie that is rolling out isn’t a final version - some features have been held back for the Autumn. Specifically, these are the “slices” search features (which require compatible apps, so expect demos and app launches at thePixel 3event in October).
The “digital wellbeing” features are also missing although there is a beta of these features available once you have downloaded Android Pie.
On Google Pixel handsets, open the Settings menu. Scroll to the bottom of the menu and tap About device then System updates. Tap Check for update and it should appear.
What about Android Pie on other phones?
The Android Pie Beta was previously available on Google Pixel, Essential Phone, OnePlus, Mi, Sony, Essential and Oppo handsets. That’s theGoogle PixelandPixel 2(plus XL versions),Sony Xperia XZ2,Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S,Nokia 7 Plus,Oppo R15 Pro,Vivo X21,OnePlus 6andEssential PH‑1to be precise.
These handsets will, says Google, get the final version of Android Pie “by the end of this fall”. Not very specific and not that helpful considering these handsets were just as valid as test beds as Google’s own Pixel devices.

Install Android Pie with a system image
The more traditional way to get the Android Pie is to go the system image/manual flashing route. you’re able to download images from Google and then flash them onto your device, but it will be a fresh install, with everything erased.Here’s the sitewhere you can download them.
