Throughout the lengthy 30+ hour adventure of Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete, players will sometimes have to grind a bit to get up to speed. While a lot of the experience is linear in its approach, that doesn’t mean that it’s perfectly balanced, so you may skip every encounter and easily take down a boss. Sometimes, even doing the bare minimum, it’ll require a bit of grinding to level up characters to properly face threats. Thankfully, there’s one spot early on players can take advantage of.

Blue Spire Leveling
To take advantage of some easy levels, players will need to gain access to the Blue Spire. This giant tower is what connects the other planet with the one you’re on. When Hiro makes it to the top of the tower, he will be greeted by a new face: Lucia. A beautiful blue-haired maiden who is seeking the Goddess Althena.
She doesn’t show much emotion outside her desire to speak to Althena to save their worlds, but it’s apparent she is one of the most powerful beings on this planet. While you’re unable to take control of her, she will occasionally aid you in battle, especially in the beginning when she has all of her powers.

Because of this, all the enemies you have encountered in the Blue Spire up until this point will be a joke to her, dying in a single blow. Some of her attacks will even hit multiple enemies at once if lined up correctly, allowing you to gain EXP in a much quicker fashion.
This is where the grind comes into play. Because of how overpowered Lucia is right out the gate, you can use her abilities to level up a little bit, something that will give you a slight edge for around 10 hours (provided you don’t run away from most enemies in dungeons). The most optimal place to farm EXP is near the entrance of the Blue Spire’s main climb. This is essentially located on the first floor of the tower climb where you encounter the first flying gargoyle guarding the east entrance.

Whenever you enter and leave this doorway/staircase, the enemies will respawn, so you’ll be able to not only kill this enemy, but progress and wipe out the next floor, all while returning. You can go up further floors and clear these out, but it’s more efficient to stay on the first and second floors, rotating between the two, to maximize your time. It should take around 20 to 30 minutes before you reach level 14.
Cutoff Point
Unfortunately, while this is a fantastic way to level up Hiro and his grandfather, the developers knew players would attempt to abuse this. This is why there is a cutoff point where the game will literally stop giving you EXP.
As mentioned, it will take around 20 to 30 minutes to get tolevel 14, and this is where things change. Lucia will no longer cast her normal spells, but instead use “Solar Bomb”, an attack that will wipe out an entire party at the start of the battle. While this sounds great, sadly, this gives the player 0 EXP and no money. At this point, you’ll have no reason to continue trying to fight any enemy in the Blue Spire, and instead progress to the story section where Lucia loses her power (which is shortly past our recommended grind point).
