In an interview withVulture, the famed filmmaker talked about how hard it was to make the movie as she spent years finding a studio.

“It’s a very competitive world, studio against studio,” she said.
She added on being asked about the challenges she faced to make the movie: “Oh, yes. Oh, harder than any other movie I’ve written.”
After so much running here and there, it was Warner Bros. that said yes to the movie.

She said while sitting with theLos Angeles Times:
“I got to the point where I was going to bury the script in my backyard. But at the last minute, Warner Bros. stepped in and said they wanted to make the movie,”
All four movies helmed by Meyer grossed a total of $481 million domestically and $1.037 billion worldwide against a combined production cost of $320 million.
