10 Short Horror Games You Can Play in One Night

If a gamer wanted to stack their October to the brim with plenty of short horror games, where would they even start?

Another, more risky way to do it is by disorienting the player and never letting them get firm footing. Who am I, and what am I doing here?

Concierge drops players into the shoes of an old man staying (or possibly stuck) at a rundown hotel out in the middle of nowhere during a terrible snowstorm. Who he is, what he’s doing there, and what exactly is up with the hotel’s creepy concierge are all unknown. Something isn’t right about the situation, though, so he might as well try to get to the bottom of it. He, somehow, has just the tool for the job too: an old “Parasonik” camcorder.

Who he is, what he’s doing there, and what exactly is up with the hotel’s creepy concierge are all unknown.

Concierge - Hotel Lobby

This odd hotel isn’t all that big, hosting only six rooms in total. But, as players will discover as they explore those rooms, the normal rules of space don’t seem to apply here, with each containing a world unto itself. How this is and why, perhaps such questions will never be answered, but what playerscando is use the Parasonik to seek out paranormal elements, find out what happened to each guest, and, perhaps most importantly, figure out what they’re even doing there in the first place.

Certainly, one can become a bit forgetful as they get older, but this is something else entirely!

There, apparently, won’t beanyguidance offered for the puzzles and challenges found in the hotel rooms, and it might not even be a matter of simply getting used to how they work either. Each room is self-contained and hosts a different kind of puzzle that won’t follow expected conventions. Further, any guidance will only come in the form of riddles. It does all tie together somehow, but how exactly likely won’t become clear until well after players clear the final screen.

Some of Concierge’s notable features are set to include:

Concierge is due out for PCvia Steamthis September. Here’s hoping that this surreal experience is the sort that can go the distance in the same way that other recent horror successes did.
