Metaphor ReFantazio offers a new look at the ReFantazio locations we have yet to see. Director Katsura Hashino revealed new details about during the ATLUS Exclusive broadcast, with the next edition scheduled for fall 2024.
Metaphor ReFantazio New Locations
Many are hoping for the reveal ofPersona 6at Tokyo Game Show 2024, which is understandable, but they shouldn’t overlook a promising game arriving on October 11 this year, developed by Studio Zero, a team composed of former Persona creators.
Studio Zero is an internal division of Atlus, led by Katsura Hashino (director of Persona 3 and Persona 4), which has gone all out to surprise us with their new game. Metaphor: ReFantazio, a fantasy JRPG, will feature a young prince who, along with the fairy Gallica and other characters, will fight to reclaim the throne that rightfully belongs to him.

The gameplay follows a structure similar toPersona or Shin Megami Tensei, though with a different theme and a distinct artistic style. There won’t be any school elements here, but there will be plenty of dungeons filled with danger.
Atlus Exclusive Showcase
Katsura Hashino showcased a series of locations within the strange world of the JRPG, giving us an idea of what to expect in Metaphor: ReFantazio. From small towns to beautiful islands, to endless labyrinths or nightmare-like places, such as the belly of a worm (in true Shin Megami Tensei style).
Eupha, a new ally that can be recruited during the adventure, was also introduced. More details about her abilities and role in the story will be revealed later.

Before the release, the creators ofMetaphor: ReFantaziowill reveal more details in the next ATLUS Exclusive, as confirmed by Hashino himself.
Other known details about the JRPG from Atlus and Studio Zero include that there will be NO romances, as part of the game’s realism, and it will be impossible to see all the dungeons in a single playthrough.
