Monster Hunter Wilds Smashes Records With Its Beta
Though the release ofMonster Hunter Wilds, the latest installment in Capcom’s hunting saga, is still a few months away, we already know it’s a resounding success. The Capcom title will launch on August 21, 2025, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. However, Nintendo Switch players will miss out on the game (though it may arrive on its successor).
Nonetheless, theMonster Hunter Wildsopen beta is now available on Steam, and it has achieved tremendous success within just a few hours.

With only a beta release, we can say thatMonster Hunter Wildsis already the franchise’s game with the highest number of concurrent users on Steam. Just imagine the impact it will have when the final version is released.

Over 463,000 Concurrent Users
If we look atSteamDB, the unofficial database of Valve’s platform, we can see thatMonster Hunter Wildshas already made franchise history for Capcom, only needing its open beta to achieve it.
In less than 24 hours (the beta launched on Halloween night), it reached a total peak of 463,798 concurrent users on Steam, and currently, more than 420,000 people are playing. It’s a spectacular number, surpassing any Monster Hunter release in recent years. Undoubtedly, the final version will achieve even better results, which would be historic.

With over 463,000 concurrent users, theMonster Hunter Wildsbeta far exceeds previous titles in the series, such as Monster Hunter Rise andMonster Hunter World.
Monster Hunter Risereached a maximum peak of 231,360 concurrent users, while Monster Hunter World managed to reach 334,684 concurrent players.

As for Capcom’s franchise itself, this is the company’s best-selling series in history (even surpassing Resident Evil). However, 94% of its total sales have been in digital format.
