Last week a rumor emerged that Monster Hunter World Iceborne would be dropping another beta before the release. Now there is confirmation from Capcom that there will be one for both Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Velkhana Beta for PS4 And Xbox One
If you were hoping thebeta rumorwas true, rejoice as there is indeed a beta forMonster Hunter World Iceborneexpansion is coming to Playstation 4 as early as this weekend. Xbox One players will also be gaining a beta but a little later on September 2nd.Players will not need the base gamein order to take part in the Iceborne beta sessions. While the base game is not needed, for PS4 players they will need a PS Plus membership and Xbox One players will need Xbox Live membership in order to access the beta. Preload options will be available starting August 28th.
Here are the times and dates according to platform:
PlayStation 4 beta- 12:01am PDT on Friday, August 30 to 11:59pm PDT on Sunday, September 1.
Xbox One Beta- 12:01am PDT on Monday, September 2 to 11:59pm PDT on Wednesday, September 4.
What’s in the Beta
The beta sessions will cover four quests including the Elder Dragon,Velkhanawhich players will need to watch out for it’s deadly icy breath. There will also be previously available challenges which includeGreat Jagras(Beginner),Banbaro(Intermediate) andTigrex(Expert). These are just some of the new monsters coming with theexpansion.
As in previous betas, players will get to try out 14 weapon types in any of the four quests and in the training area. These weapons will include brand new features coming with Iceborne, theSlingertool options such as theClutch Claw.
There is also a new mode of transport the Raider Ride, summon the Tailraider monster to ride across each locale. You can also test out the new screenshot function in View Mode.
Completing each of the quests for the first time will grant players special commendation packs, four in total can be earned. These will contain some useful consumables which can be used in the full version of Iceborne upon release. Time to grab some Hot Drinks as things are about to get chilly.
