Dr. Lauren Bloom (Janet Montgomery) is one of the main characters inNew Amsterdamand the Head of the Emergency Department at the hospital. Bloom has appeared in every episode of the series and has been involved in plenty of storylines, including many ofNew Amsterdam’s best and worst relationship arcs. As one of the lead doctors at New Amsterdam Hospital, Dr. Bloom is responsible for a significant number of employees under her purview and many of her storylines involve balancing her huge responsibilities with some of her personal demons.
