Apple’s #ShotoniPhone campaign continued today with a new video posted to thecompany’s official YouTube channelhighlighting whale shark research with pretty cool underwater photography and features great videography work.

The Maldives Whale Shark Research Programme (MWSRP) is a charity that is breaking new ground in whale shark research and fostering community-focused conservation initiatives. The field team of the MWSRP monitors the demographics and movement of different species such as whale sharks using an iOS app.

Apple has commissioned this video from director Sven Dreesbach, cinematographers Carlos Vargas and Sven Dreesbach and producer Julia Etzelmueller.

Interestingly enough, the same equipment was used in another recent Apple-commissioned promotionalfootage featuring Cuban beacheswhile similar rigs were used in the filming ofApple’s video about a teenage athlete from American Samoa.

The new mini-film came less than a week following anothershot on iPhone video of Toronto Maple Leafs’ right winger Mitch Marner.
