It’s not just about slaying monsters inMonster Hunter Wilds, but sometimes it’s about capturing them, too. Being able to harvest a monster’s materials will benefit every single hunter, allowing them to craft better equipment and weapons. But in order to have a better and speedy process, capturing them is offered, something that exchanges crafted items in favor of these materials. While we have covered where to findSleep Herbsalready, we also need this important fungus, too.
How to Capture Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds
Get extra crafting materials by capturing every monster you come across.
What are Parashrooms?
Parashrooms are an important piece of crafting material that can be collected throughout the various areas in Monster Hunter Wild’s world. They are scattered throughout a portion of the map, and allow you to pick them up while on your travels.
If you’re a consistent hoarder, you’ll likely pick up as much stuff as you come across, but sometimes that’s just not good enough. Because there are only a handful of spots in Monster Hunter Wilds you are able to pick these mushrooms from, they become highly sought after, especially because they are a key component in crafting Tranq Bombs.

Where to Find Parashrooms
Surprisingly, Parashrooms are fairly rare, even in the most obvious areas. You will need both Sleep Herbs and Parashrooms to craft Tranq Bombs, but somehow the latter is a lot less plentiful. Thankfully, there are a couple of locations where you may take a couple of easy paths to optimize how fast you’re able to collect these.
Scarlet Forest
As you might expect, the forest is the best place to harvest Parashrooms. This bustling, wildlife-rich part of the world has only three spots where you can find the Parashrooms, but one of them has three bunched up, allowing you to quickly harvest a hefty amount. The swampy Zone 2 will be the first area you come across from your base, and it has one on the eastern side. Moving up north, at the entrance toarea 12, there will be another Parashroom waiting to be picked. Finally, head east tozone 7, where there are three Parashrooms spread around a campsite. If you have this campsite unlocked, this is the best place to farm these.
Windward Plains
The first major location in Monster Hunter Wilds only has two Parashrooms to find, and we’re surprised it has that many. This is a pretty desolate location, being it is mostly desert, but there are a couple of spots you can find these. The first is next to the oasis inzone 13, right next to a bunch of Paratoads. The second and final one is closer to base, on the eastern side ofzone 3, tucked in between all the beetles and minerals.
Ruins of Wyveria
While this has more Parashrooms to find than Windward Plains, they are spread out a lot more. The first can be found just southwest of the base in area 10 on the third level, just south of some honey and herbs. The next two are on the second level, but fairly spread from one another. Both are found in zone 6, but one is just west of the 6 marker on the map, while the other is all the way north in a small cave area.
Oilwell Basin
By far the last place you’ll want to go to look for Parashrooms, but if you’re desperate, there is at least one in the Oilwell Basin. Found on the lowest level of the Oilwell Basin, you’ll have to Zone 12 to find this single Parashroom just begging to be picked.
Material Retrieval
Lastly, you are able to utilize the game’s Material Retrieval system from various sources to obtain Parashrooms. This is an easier way to obtain the item through a passive means, but it does require some patience. While you’re able to go grind these items out in each area, collecting them from the individuals takes time, and sometimes won’t yield what you had hoped for. Rysher will offer Parashrooms to be harvested in the Wyveria.
