There has been no official confirmation what the full pokedex for Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be, but that hasn’t stopped fans from theorizing which beloved mons will return and who will be gifted a new, shiny mega form.
All Pokémon Confirmed To Be in Legends: ZA (So Far)
The next installment in the Pokémon franchise is set to bring back Mega Evolutions, including new Mega Evolution forms.
Over the years, fans have been let down by some Pokémon not receiving the mega treatment despite their popularity and drop in competitive use. Below are ten Pokémon that should receive a mega form in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

10Chesnaught
A Mega Wall Of Pain
Pokemon X and Y
Chespin was one of the starter mons for Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s previous installment,Pokemon X and Y. This mon is known for being a strong defensive wall that punishes mons for physically attacking it with its signature move, Spiky Shield.

From creature collecting to monster hunting, there’s something for you to enjoy while we wait for the next Pokémon Legends title to drop.
Many fans are attached to it, so it should be an obvious mon to receive a mega form that leans into those defensive stats, with an equally defensive ability change from bulletproof to something really strong like Immunity or a new ability that makes its quad weakness to flying moves less punishing.

9Butterfree
Butterfree this Pokémon from the Chains of Mediocrity
Pokemon Red
For too long, this mon has been the poster boy of weak mons that never got a true buff. Its aggressive cousin, Beedrill, was smiled upon by the mega gods when it received a mega form that gave it broken stats and a powerful ability in adaptability.
It’s time Butterfree, one of Ash’s OG mons got that love too, maybe a mega form with a type change to mitigate its quad weakness to rock moves and stealth rock, and some buffed stats so it can set up quiver dances without being KO’d on switch in.

8Pikachu/Raichu
Any Chu Will Do
Pikachu is undoubtedly the mascot of the Pokémon franchise, yet this mon and its evolutions did not get a crazy mega form to match its popularity. All the chus have never been competitively viable either, so it’s about time that Raichu, or an even funnier choice, Pikachu itself, receivea mega formto make this mascot competitively viable.

Ranking the best Pokémon history has to offer us with its unusual paradox Pokémon!
Pikachu has received some cool moves over the years, like volt tackle, so what a mega form needs is a great design, a cool ability and buffed stats, especially speed, to be a stand-out mega that gets fans excitedabout the new form and the game in general.

A Popular Mon with Great Potential
Delphox is another starter from the previous installment that could use some mega love as well. With its interesting design and unique Fire/Psychic typing, a mega form for this magician-themed mon could be awesome. Delphox has also had trouble standing out competitively, so boosted stats along with a better ability in this new mega form would be a godsend for it.
The mons popularity is also relatively high, as it has been included in more recent games and been added to Pokémon’s MOBA,Pokémon Uniteto enjoy a steady competitive presence there.

Add Two More Arms to this Meathead
Machamp is just awesome, the bodybuilder-themed Pokémon that’s been popular and has had some great updates since its debut in the first games. With its inclusion in almost every game so far and its popularity, it’s about time this bench presser gets a wicked new mega form.
Machamp has four arms, so it seems obvious that the new form would add a couple more and take Machamp’s physique to the next level, with a fighting-type signature attack that hits 6 in his mega form. Or its mega-form’s ability could be something that makes its attacks hit multiple times, given the new appendages our favorite boy would be showing off.
Its Popularity and Pseudo-Mega Form Make this a No-Brainer
A newer Pokémon that has easily become one of the most popular ones ever, Greninja has shown up in Smash Bros. and in companion Pokémon series like Pokémon Unite due to its design and fan-favorite status. The mon was key for Ash’s journey in the TV series as well, which then led to Greninja receiving an alternate, powerful form known as Ash-Greninja.
While Ash’s era is over, Greninja’s is far from done, and so the cool ninja toad should receive a mega form to bring it back into the spotlight and give cool new bonus stats to the already competitively viable mon. Water shuriken is already such a cool move, Greninja needs little more than a cool new mega design and fans would be more than happy.
A Forgotten Fan-Favourite
Pokemon Ruby
Flygon has been a beloved Pokémon ever since the third generation. The Dragonfly-themed Dragon/Ground type with levitate has also been competitively viable for a few generations. But fans have waited long enough and it’s time for the bug dragon to receive a mega-form that makes him the dragon bug god who earthquakes and dragon claws its way to victory.
Despite its low stats, Flygon has made a niche for itself competitively, but a mon as beloved as this deserves more, and so a cool new form with buffed speed and attack stats would be celebrated by the community and bring the well-loved mon back into relevancy.
3Mamoswine
Big Boi Needs a Big Buff
Mamo has been a well-liked Pokémon since its debut in generation three, as Piloswine needed another evolution to make its evo family stand out. But since that generation, there’s a power creep that has made mamo’s stats and dual ice/ground coverage less and less of a standout.
While there’s still a place for Mamo, it’s about time the popular mon had a mega form to really lean into his mammoth-themed design. The form could give him more fur, bulk him up and even drop his speed in return for a massive attack bonus that makes him the slow, impervious mammoth they were always meant to be.
Snorlax has enjoyed near-mascot status since his introduction in the first Pokémon games. An example of a Pokémon that actually existed in the Pokémon world to block your progress, making for a more engaging world and a fascinating beast to encounter. Early on, Snorlax was a beast competitively as well, being nearly impossible to KO while hitting back with curse-boosted body slams.
Snorlax has had a dramatic fall from competitive grace and so it’s about time they receive a mega form that either leans into its slow but impenetrable body, or for an even funnier change of pace, burns off all their fat for a speedy Pokémon underneath that deals big damage quickly. The trade-off could be that Snorlax can only be in mega forms for a few turns before he needs to nap again, or players could try and fake out their opponents by not bringing the mega form and leaning into his original form instead to keep them guessing.
1Dragonite
The Single Most Requested Mega in All of Pokémon
Every generation has a pseudo-legendary Pokémon, a Pokémon that doesn’t count as a legendary perse, but basically is one. Some of these have been powerful enough to beat legendary Pokémon in battle or in a popularity contest, and no pesudo-legendary has stayed so relevant over so many years as Dragonite.
The OG dragon Pokémon, Dragonite is still competitively viable after so many years due to its awesome ability, multiscale, its great move pool and its great stats. This mega form is necessary only because so many mons in Dragonite’s category have gotten a cool mega form, except for him. Fans have begged for a cool new form for the ever-relevant dragon-type, so while the king of the skies doesn’t need a mega form, it needs a mega form, pronto.
