The original follows the story of a mother of two trying to survive in a world where a mysterious force has caused people to commit suicide when they see it.
Bullock’s performance as Malorie Hayes received critical acclaim, with many praising her ability to convey fear, desperation, and determination in a world where survival is uncertain. According to the official synopsis, it follows Sebastian’s survival journey through the deserted streets of Barcelona after a mysterious force devastates the world’s population.
“After a mysterious force decimates the world’s population, Sebastian must navigate his own survival journey through the desolate streets of Barcelona,”the film’s synopsis teased. “As he forms uneasy alliances with other survivors and they attempt to escape the city, an unexpected and even more sinister threat grows.”

Will It Match The Success Of The Original Film
The original film was adapted from Josh Malerman’s 2014 novel of the same name and received mixed reviews from critics. However, it became a massive success on Netflix, breaking records and becoming one of the streaming platform’s most-watched original movies. A sequel to his 2014 novel was inspired by watching the Netflix adaptation, Malerman revealed to Esquire in 2019.
“At the end of the movie, I turned to my girl Allison and said, ‘I want to know what happens next!’ and she’s like, ‘Well, you know, you could make that happen,’ so it really was this warm feeling,”Malerman said.
