The future ofPlayStationseems to be becoming clearer. Everything points to the PS5 Pro being officially unveiled in just a few weeks, with the mid-generation console expected to arrive this year, accompanying titles like Astro Bot, Concord, and LEGO Horizon Adventures.
However, what will happen starting in 2025 is still a complete mystery, though there are continuous leaks about Naughty Dog’s new projects. Specifically, there is new talk about the Californian company potentially having found the protagonists for The Last of Us Part 3. Recently, PlayStation Studios reportedly conducted a casting call that hinted at being part of a Naughty Dog project.
Now, it is claimed that this would not only be a new title from the company led by Neil Druckmann but indeed The Last of Us Part III.
The TCMFGames account asserts that this casting was specifically aimed at finding the new main protagonists of the third installment, who would supposedly share the spotlight with Ellie and Abby.

The information indicates that the casting description referred to a video game with extreme violence, and few sagas fit that description better than The Last of Us. Coupled with the expectation that the new IP the studio is working on will be ready by 2025 or 2026, this would rule out any possibility that they are still choosing their main actors.
Of course, this is just a rumor and should be treated as such until PlayStation and Naughty Dog make an official announcement.
