While we still have a few months untilMarvelkicks offPhase Threeof its movie universe withCaptain America: Civil War, fans just have a few days before anotherMarvelhero returns on the small screen.Season 2ofMarvel’s Daredevilis set to debut on Friday, March 18, which will introduceJon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, a.k.a.The Punisherinto Hell’s Kitchen. Earlier today,Jon Bernthaltook to hisInstagramandTwitteraccounts to share new behind-the-scenes videos and photos of The Punisher in action.
Both the video and photo show Frank Castle standing on a rooftop, firing a large rifle at an unknown enemy. Of course, we don’t know who he’s shooting at, or when this scene takes place within the 13-episode season, but it’s clear that The Punisher will surely be a force to be reckoned with inDaredvil Season 2. The Punisher won’t be the only new character introduced this season, withElodie Yungalso coming aboard to portray Matt Murdock’s (Charlie Cox) new love interest,Elektra Nachios.
Just when Matt thinks he is bringing order back to the city, new forces are rising inHell’s Kitchen. Now the Man Without Fear must take on a new adversary in Frank Castle and face an old flame - Elektra Natchios (Elodie Yung). Bigger problems emerge when Frank Castle, a man looking for vengeance, is reborn as The Punisher, a man who takes justice into his own hands in Matt’s neighborhood.
Meanwhile, Matt must balance his duty to his community as a lawyer and his dangerous life as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, facing a life-altering choice that forces him to truly understand what it means to be a hero.Rosario Dawsonis also returning as Claire Temple, along with Scott Glenn as Stick. There have been rumors that the iconic comic book villain Bullseye may show up this season, but that has never been confirmed. These new episodes come on the heels of a successful first season of Netflix’s second Marvel TV series,Jessica Jones, which has since been picked up for a second season. Back in November, a cryptic teaser hinted that Daredevil Season 2 may cross over with the third series,Luke Cage, suggesting that Luke may have taken over Matt’s local bar, Josies.
Last week, it was confirmed thatLuke Cagewill debut on September 30, but we still don’t known whenIron Fistwill debut. These two characters, along withDaredevilandJessica Jones, will join forces in the miniseriesThe Defenders, which is expected to debut sometime in 2017.
