Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is good old-fashioned FPS fun with a sprite art style. However, don’t assume the game is as stiff and janky as an old shooter. The combat can get fast and intense as you enter large arenas front-loaded with enemies. Blast them with your array of guns, or get in close and cut them down with your chainsword. Each level also comes with secrets and power-ups to turn you into a true chaos hunter.

Is the game perfect? It unfortunately suffers from bugs here and there, with occasional hiccups in the audio. Is it an utter blast to play? Absolutely. Story-wise, Rogue City feels like the perfect sequel to RoboCop 2 as you investigate OCP and a crook who may be linked to RoboCop’s past. However, where Rogue City excels is in the gameplay and violence. It packs a punch, and you feel it. Every weapon has power, and the damage you cause to criminals and the environment is all just satisfying. Highly recommended.

If you need another reason to play this game after DOOM, then remember that both DOOM and Wolfenstein are technically linked. Because if you believe the bizarre canon, B.J. Blazkowicz is the great-grandfather of the Doom Slayer. Seems fighting evil runs in the family.
