When I think of it, the more it seems to me that the Apple Watch will be a boon to my productivity. For instance, the Watch will send me meeting reminders and calendar invitations, which beats having to pull an iPhone out of my pocket.

Todoist, a cloud-based task and project-management service, promises to do the same for to-do lists. Their Watch app is nearly finished and now developers have shared screenshots (viaTechCrunch) and a video which demonstrates how Todoist will bring to-do lists and task management to the wrist.

Rather than being a full-blown version of its iOS counterpart, Todoist puts only the most essential information to your wrist.

This is by design, and expected.

Due to the Watch’s small screen real estate, there isn’t really much one can do on it other than interact with snippets of information for very brief periods of time.

That being said, Todoist for the Apple Watch makes it easy to view your upcoming tasks, browse task categories, reply to comments, mark tasks as completed and so forth.

Speaking to developers this morning, MacRumors learned that the task filter view will be added to the shipping version of Todoist for Apple Watch.

Like other Watch apps, Todoist runs on your iPhone as an iOS 8 extension andsimply streams user interfaceresources and a storyboard to the Watch.

Word on the street is thatApple askedsome, but not all, developers to submit their Watch apps by mid-February to ensure that popular launch apps won’t drain the battery too fast ahead of their inclusion in the App Store.

In the meantime, check out Todoist for iOS in the App Store.
