InLike a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, the Devil Flags are a nasty crew of pirates of which the Goro Pirates run afoul. After the initial encounters, hunting them down becomes an optional quest, which requires raising the Goro Pirates' reputation along with collecting enough Devil Flags to steer the course to their next hideout. Captain Yakuza is hiding out in the Waters Near Atali Island, and he is the first of the Devil Flags that needs to be sent to Davey Jones' locker. It’s also advisable to take out all the Devil Flags in this area, as they will contribute to the total needed to unlock the other hideouts.

Review: Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

Waking up marooned on a tropical island with no memory of who he is, Goro Majima does the only sensible thing. He becomes a pirate captain.

Yanagi Island

The first batch of Devil Flags Majima took out on our visit to these waters was on Yanagi Island. It wasn’t too far from the arrival point, and it was a straight forward battle on the island. After we beat up those Devil pirates, the treasure we plundered was a Tornado Brooch.

Sasanqua Island

The next stop for the Goro Pirates was Sasanqua Island. This is anoher straight forward fight. Sail to the island, assemble a crew of four hearty mates, and storm the island. The Devils Flags Pirates always make good punching bags for the Goro Pirates, and after they receive a nice thrashing, it’s time to collect their flags along with the Ring of the Tempest.

Devil Flags Third Fleet

Not all the Devil Flags encounters will be melees on land. They fancy themselves as scourges of the seven seas as well, so it’s only fitting that there are a few naval battles with them as well. Sail over the Devil marker and look at the ominous looking ship. Captain Majima will comment on them looking tough, and whenever the player is ready, it’s time to start the battle. Blast the boss with everything you’ve got, and then board the damaged ship for the showdown.

Emma Island

Back to land battles and plundering for treasure, it’s time to set course for Emma Island. Set sail, beat up some more pirates, and this time the buried booty is the Winged Carpet.

Review: Yakuza Kiwami

Yakuza Kiwami packs a lot of content into an affordable package and is a great jumping off point for newcomers to the series as well.

Atali Island

This is it. After ridding the nearby waters of the Devil Flags, it’s time to go to Atali Island for the showdown with Captain Yakuza. This can be a tough battle, but nothing the Goro Pirates can’t handle. Take out the pirates, and the reward is the Dark God’s Ocarina. This device can summon helpful electric jellyfish, which can come in very hand in the next stop.

Hans Island

It was a trap! Captain Yakuza had no intention of resolving anything peacefully with the Goro Pirates or returning the stolen treasure. Unfortunately for him, the Goro Pirates only know how to resolve things one way, and this was a painful lesson for Captain Yakuza to learn. Get ready for an all-out brawl with the active crew of the Goromaur against Captain Yakuza and 100 pirate minions.

Now if the reputation is high enough and enough Devil Flags have been recovered, it’s off to Flame Heaven.
