World of Warcraft’slatest expansion,The War Within, launched its first Mythic+ season last month. The season introduced a new affix to challenge players: Xal’atath’s Bargain. Xal’atath’s Bargain shows up as early as Keystone Level 2, so it is the first affix you’ll be tasked with when completing Mythic+ dungeons.

Xal’atath’s Bargain has four potential modifiers - Ascendant, Voidbound, Oblivion and Devour - which rotate out on a weekly basis.The modifier for the week of October 15 is Oblivion.The next time we’ll see Oblivion in play will be on the week of Nov. 12.
What is Xal’atath’s Bargain: Oblivion?
Xal’atath’s Bargain: Oblivion is a modifier of the Mythic+ affix Xal’atath’s Bargain.This affix is present in Mythic+ dungeons at a difficulty of 2 or higher, but the modifier swaps each week. As there are four modifiers in total, it will be three weeks before we see the same affix come into rotation.

Xal’atath’s Bargain: Oblivion calls on Xal’atath, who willperiodically summon 10 orbs that will gravitate towards enemy mobs. If the orbs reach mobs, surrounding enemies will gain a 10% stacking damage buff for each orb that hits them. However, if players intercept the orbs instead, party members will gain a temporary buff that increases both Mastery and Leech.
How to counter Xal’atath’s Bargain: Devour
Countering Xal’atath’s Bargain: Devour is simple: Absorb the orbs before they hit enemy mobs. To absorb the orbs, simply run through them or make contact with them before they hit enemies. Orbs do not cause damage or any other detrimental effects, so it does not matter how many orbs one player absorbs. All party members benefit from the Mastery and Leech buff, regardless of who collects the orbs.
It’s worth noting that sometimes these orbs will spawn at the end of combat, but it’s still worth collecting them for the temporary buff going into the next pull.
