VFX Producer Who Worked On Michael B. Jordan’sBlack PantherFaced Discrimination

With the Hollywood Writers and Actors Strike gaining momentum, the industry’s technicians are also coming forward to stake their claim for justice. A VFX producer going by the name of Emily who worked extensively in films of the MCU, revealed shocking details about her experience on set. Apart from the extremely tiring 16-hour shifts with an understaffed team that did not justify her minimal pay, the VFX artist confessed that she also faced gender discrimination on set when being interviewed for the job. Speaking of the controversial conditions that were laid before her in MCU’sBlack Pantherstarring Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan, Emily said,

“You’re not allowed to have a husband or a partner or kids when you work for Marvel or in visual effects? That’s ridiculous.”

Emily confided in Maggie Kraisamutr, a veteran of 20 years in the VFX field who expressed shock on learning that it had occurred with Marvel Studios, especially since she had worked for Disney, the parent company for about five years. Kraisamutr also stressed the importance of creating a union of VFX artists to address the issue on a serious level.

Michael B. Jordan To Be Awarded At The Academy Museum Gala

Hollywood starMichael B. Jordanis being recognized for his contribution to cinema and his achievements in his career so far. TheCreed3star will receive an award from The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in a gala that will be held in Los Angeles. Jordan is one among a list of popular celebrities who will also be credited for their work including veteran actor Meryl Streep, talk show host Oprah Winfrey, and director Sofia Coppola.

Michael B. Jordan will be honored with the Vantage Award which seeks to recognize an emerging artist or scholar who is currently helping to contextualize and challenge dominant narratives around cinema. The evening will help raise vital funds to support the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’ exhibitions, education initiatives, and public programming which will go into servicing the general public and local organizations within the Los Angeles area.
